| From February 2010 |
I think Papa wants to be a kid again! He pulled out his toys yesterday, and, again, wanted to play by himself, so Mom took me to the Chinese New Year Celebration at the Children's museum.
Our first stop was face painting of course. I chose a Chinese Opera Masque because it had lots of colors in it. Afterwards, I built a Hongboa - the small red envelopes people put money in and give to children and neighbors on New Years Day. I decorated a tiger masque, discovered my Chinese sign - I was born the year of the pig - helped Maman fold a tiger origami and decorated a paper tiger too. Did you pick up on the theme? Yes, it is the year of the tiger!
Before heading out, we saw the Lion dance and a magical martial arts demonstration. I really really liked that.
We missed the Chinese New Year parade in Harvard Square, but picked up some yummy cupcakes at Sweets that we shared with Dad when we got home.
Fun day!
