En Route

I can walk! Well, with assistance for now, but I really like it! I've also taken to moving furniture, anything I can push I'll rearrange to my liking. I don't think my parents like my sense of style, though I am confident they'll eventually love it!
I've also learned to drink out of a cup all by myself. Sometimes I get too much water in my mouth and it reminds me of the pool.
My Mom finished summer school, no more evening reading or stressful class projects until the end of August and that means more time for me! YEAH! And Dad is taking most of August off from work to work on his thesis and, of course, spend time with me. Or maybe it's the other way around, to spend time with me and work on his thesis. I'm helping him anyway so it should take no time at all.
I am spending the weekend at my grand-parent's in San Diego while my parents go away for a few days. I can't tell you where yet, it's a surprise for Mom...



Vous avez-vu? Je marche! Avec de l'aide d'accord, mais tout de meme, c'est pas mal non? Du coup j'ai aussi commence a rearranger les meubles chez nous, du moins ceux que je peux pousser toute seule. Mes parents ne reconnaissent pas mon style, mais je parie que d'ici peu ils adoreront.
J'ai aussi appris a boire toute seule avec un verre. Le seul problem c'est quand il faut reposer le verre, je renverse un peu. Et parfois je prends une gorgee trop grande, c'est un peu comme a la piscine.
Maman a termine ses cours d'ete, plus de lecture du soir ou de travail de groupe a terminer jusqu'a la fin aout. Ca veut donc dire plus de temps pour moi. Super! Et papa prends 3 semaines de conge paternite au mois d'aout pour travailler sur sa these et passer du temps avec moi. Ou plutot pour passer du temps avec moi et travailler sur sa these. Je l'aide aussi, comme ca il finira plus vite.
Je vais passer le weekend chez mes grand-parents a San Diego pendant que mes parents partent en vacances quelques jours. J'peux pas vous dire ou car c'est une surprise pour maman!

Independance Day

We saw Dan and Liz in Newport Beach and I made quite an impression at their house party.There were SO many people out there, everyone had drawings on there bodies and was holding a red or blue cup that they wouldn't share with me!

Then we hit the beach, Dad played volleyball with Dan and I played with Liz. After Dad got Mom in the water they took me to play in the waves and we made it home in time for the fireworks. Our neighbors joined us at the beach to enjoy the show, I loved it and I got to stay up late!

Nous sommes alle rendre visite a Liz et Dan qui etaient en vacances a Newport Beach. Il y avait tout plein de monde et ils avaient tous des dessins sur le corps et un verre rouge ou bleu dans la main que personne m'a laisse gouter!

Ensuite nous sommes alle a la plage, papa a joue au volley avec Dan et Liz c'est amuse avec moi. Apres que Papa aie pris Maman dans l'eau ils m'ont emmener jouer dans les vagues, ca mouille! Nous sommes rentre pour alle voir les feux d'artifice et les voisins nous ont rejoins a la plage pour regarder le spectacle, j'ai beaucoup aime et je suis restee debout super tard!

I am 10 months today and I learned how to clap just in time to celebrate Fourth of July! I also prepared a special version of a pot-pourri of patriotic songs:

June update / Quelques nouvelles de Juin

I've been honored with a crawling master award and am now working on my balance. Sometimes, I like to let go of everything and just stand by myself to make my parents gasp. I also like to make them laugh when I show off my comedian talent. Last night, all I did to crack them up was looking at my Mom and start laughing while trying to climb all over her.

When I am not entertaining my parents I love to play in the water or chase the cats, especially Fritz, around the house. And with my two new teeth I can now eat pretty much anything, from strawberries and mango to leaves, books, Mom's school reading or the house plants.

I spent the entire weekend with my Dad while Mom was in class. He took me to the beach and got us all wet playing in the waves! We also had a blast at the park, swinging, climbing and watching the other kids play. I was great spending all this time with him!

J'ai recu un diplome avec mention pour mon deplacement superior a 4 pattes et travaille maintenant sur mon equilibre. Parfois, j'aime bien laisser aller tout support et me tenir debout tout seule, mes parents en ont la langues par terre a tous les coups. J'aime aussi les faire rire avec mes talents de comedienne. Hier soir, le simple fait de regarder ma mere et me mettre a rire en lui montant dessus les a fait rigoler pendant 1/4 d'heure.

Quand je n'amuse pas mes parents, j'aime jouer dans l'eau ou courir apres les chats, surtout Fritz. Et puis avec mes deux nouvelles dents, je peux manger presque de tout maintenant: fraises et mangue, feuille, livres, les affaires d'ecole de maman et les plantes...

J'ai passe mon weekend avec Papa, car maman etait en cours. Il m'a emmener a la plage et on est rentre tout mouiller apres avoir jouer dans les vagues. . Nous sommes aussi alle au parc, sur les balancoires, pour grimper partout et observer les autres enfants. Je me rejouis de mon prochain weekend avec Papa!

3/4 of a year already, I am now a world veteran! I have mastered crawling, am getting proficient at standing up, can manage sitting down and even balance unsupported for a few seconds. Through all of these learning experiences, I've learned to never give up!

Deja 3/4 d'un an, je suis donc un bebe avec beaucoup d'experience! Je maitrise le deplacement a 4 pattes, m'ameliore a me mettre debout, je peux me rassoir toute seule et arrive meme a me tenir debout sans support pendant quelque secondes. A travers toutes ses experiences enrichissantes, j'ai appris qu'il ne fallait jamais abandonner!

A new perspective / Une nouvelle perspective

I decided to tackle both crawling and getting up at the same time. I am really doing it for my parents: with my increased mobility, it will be more of a workout for them to run around after me as I try to get everything I can get a hold of to the floor or in my mouth. Lately, I've really been into shoes and have not yet understood why they don't let me play with them. There are plenty to share and they all have different shapes and colors! But I like to play with my bal.
I also had a lot of time playing with Jennifer when she visited last week and even got some ice cream when we went on a walk! THAT was yummy!





J'ai decide d'apprendre a aller a quatre pattes et me mettre debout en meme temps. Vraiment je le fais pour mes parents: ca les fait courir a travers la maison quand je commence a tout mettre par terre ou dans la bouche! Ces derniers temps, j'etudie les chaussures et ne comprends pas pourquoi mes parents ne me laissent pas jouer avec. Y'en a plein et elles sont de toutes les couleurs! Mais j'aime aussi jouer avec ma balle.
La semaine passee, Jennifer est venue nours rendre visite, on s'est bien amusee et j'ai meme gouter de la glace quand on est alle se promener. C'etait bon ca!

Mother's Day weekend / weekend de la Fete des Meres

Dad took great care of Mom today and we are having a relaxing and fun family day. We went to the park and I tried the swing for the first time. I also went down the slide and try the rocking horse. All that was quite tiring so my Dad and I got some rest in the afternoon.
I also wanted to tell you about my swimming classes, I really like going to the pool every Saturday and afterwards we go to farmers market. Once we get home I play with my new wooden blocks...

Papa s'est bien occupe de Maman aujourd'hui et on a passe une journee relax en famille. Nous sommes alle au parc et j'ai essayer la balancoire, le tobogan et le cheval a bascule! C'etait tres bien mais fatiguant alors j'ai fait la sieste avec Papa cet apres-midi.
J'ai oublie de vous dire que je vais a la piscine tous les weekends, j'adore ca et apres mon cours on va au marche tous ensemble et quand on rentre jejoue avec mes nouveaux blocs en bois...
