At the farm / Visite a la ferme

We picked up Mimi yesterday morning and while I took a nap in the car, drove out to Cochituate State park for a picnic. It was a little cold for my liking so I had them wrap me in a blanket and feed me :-)

After that we drove to a farm to learn how to make maple syrup. I didn't understand everything, but I know that trees cry tears that taste like soap in a bucket and that gets put on a very hot fire to make bubbles until it becomes yummy yummy syrup. It is SO good! I think we should put it on more than just pancakes!

After that we walked around the farm and said hello to the dogs and the big cow with a baby in her belly, fed grass to the ram, counted baby rabbits, imitated the singing rooster and the babbling hens, saw sheep ready for sheering and made friends with many white and playful kids (that's what baby goats are called). The farm is fun!

Wait, the day wasn't over! We stopped at the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary on the way home so I could play one of my favorite games: picking up sticks and pine cones off the trails and climbing on rocks. Bonus: since we were walking by ponds, I could throw the pine cones in the water!

After all that, Mimi gave me some chocolate cover cookies, yum!

Hier matin, on est allé chercher Mimi et pendant que je faisais une petite sieste sommes allées au parc Cochituate pour y manger notre pique-nique. J'ai trouvé qu'il faisait un peu froid et j'ai demandé à être emitouflée dans une couverture pendant qu'on me nourisse...

Ensuite on est allé à la ferme pour apprendre comment on fait le sirop d'érable. J'ai pas tout compris, mais je sais que les arbres pleurent dans des sceaux des larmes qui ont le goût de savon. Puis on met tout ça sur un feux très chaud et ça fait des bulles jusqu'à ce que ça se transforme en délicieux sirop.

On a pu découvrir le reste de la ferme: j'ai dit bonjour au chien et à la vache qui va avoir son veau la semaine prochaine. Les moutons étaient prêts à être tondus, les chevreaux s'amusaient à se courir après et les laperaux me regardaient curieusement! J'ai pu donner à manger au bouc et chanté comme le coq... C'est bien la ferme!

Avant de rentrer à Boston on s'est arrêtée au parc nature de Broadmoor ou j'ai pu m'amuser à ramasser des pives et des bâtons, et grimper sur les rochers au bord des étangs. Avant de repartir, Mimi m'a offert des biscuits couverts de chocolat. Quelle bonne journée!
