Moitie Suisse, Half American

Tous les jours devraient être le dernier jour de l'an.

Il a commencé à neiger dès le petit déjeuner et moi j'adore la neige... Ensuite on est allé voir des garçons qui volaient sur leurs vélos et des grands qui sautaient si haut sur un trampoline qu'ils pouvaient faire trois petits tours avant de redescendre! C'est fou ça non?

On a décoré des chapeaux de fêtes, regardé des groupes de danses et du jonglage... Avec mon joli maquillage, j'étais prête pour ma première représentation avec les tambours d'Afrique. La musique me plaisait tellement que je les ai rejoind sur scène!

Y'avait trop de monde pour le cortège alors j'ai fait la sieste mais je me suis reveillée pour le patinage artistique et les feux d'artifice à Boston Commons.

Un bon repas, qques boules de neige sur le chemin du retour et j'étais prête pour un bain chaud et une bonne nuit de sommeil.

Every day should be the last day of the year! It all started wonderfully with a big snowfall. I love snow!

After that, we headed to the Boston First Night festivities. We saw boys riding fast and high with their bikes, admired athletes jumping so high on the trampoline they could spin three times before coming down, enjoyed circus artists doing magic and juggling tricks...

I got to decorate a party hat with Dad and with my face painted was ready to get on stage for the first time at the drum circle.

They were so much fun that when they asked if people wanted to come and dance with them I just went for it.

There were too many people at the parade so I took a nap, but I woke up for the ice skating show and... the fireworks at Boston Commons!

A good meal and some snowballs later, I was ready to come home take a warm bath and get some rest.

Christmas day / Noël

Wohoo, aujourd'hui c'est Noël! Y'en a qui ont fait la grasse matinée mais avec grand-papa on s'est levé tôt pour voir si le Père Noël avait mangé les buiscuit et bu le verre de lait qu'on lui avait laissé la soir d'avant. On a bien fait car il y avait déjà des cadeaux! Il est bien le Père Noël.

Dans l'après-midi on a ouvert les cadeaux sous le sapin. C'est très difficile à faire et j'ai du aidé tout le monde...

J'ai aidé maman à décorer la bûche de Noël et j'ai dégusté mon premier hommard en faisant des grimaces rigolottes pour tout le monde.

La suite de la journée? Découvrir mes nouveaux jouets!

Today's Christmas! Some chose to sleep in a bit, but grandpa and I got up early to see if Santa ate the cookies and drank the glass of milk we left for him last night. And wow, not only was it gone there were presents in our stocking and everywhere!

Later we all sat by the tree and opened presents. It's very hard to do so I had to help everyone with their presents too.

I also helped Mom decorate the Yule Log she made for dinner and savored my first lobster while making funny faces to everyone at the table.

And the rest of the day you ask? Playing with all my new toys!

Seaworld

I went back to Seaworld! Shamu put on a great show for me. I learned that it was a girl and she jumps really high out of the water when we all call her name. It was great!

The sea lions didn't seem too interested in the fish I was feeding them, but the birds liked them! And I really just wanted to give them a kiss.

I had a great time at the Pets Rule show where a big black dog gave me a very wet kiss and at the biggest playground in the world! Grandpa, Papa, Mom and I climbed onto the nets all the way up to the wooden bridges and came down to roll around on a giant mat.

Even dinner was fun, we saw my great-grandma Audrey and had a yummy meal with her. We both got pumpkin pie!

On est retourné à Seaworld! Le spectacle de Shamu était génial. On a appris que c'était une fille et quand tout le monde appelle son nom, elle saute super haut dans la piscine. Wow

Les lions de mers n'ont pas montré beaucoup d'intéret aux les poissons que je voulais leur donner a manger, mais les oiseaux, eux, n'ont pas hésité. Et moi, je voulais juste leur faire un bec aux poissons!

On a vu un spectacle très drole avec des chats, des chiens et qques cochons... Un gros chiens noir m'a fait un bisousurprise tout mouillé.

J'ai fait grimper grand-papa, papa et maman dans la structure de jeux et me suis roulée parterre à en perdre le nord :-)

Ce soir là on est allé manger avec mon arrière grand-maman et toutes les deux on a eu droit à un morceau de gâteau!

Finally in San Diego! / Finallement arrivé a San Diego

On est arrivé très tôt le matin; Grand-papa est venu nous chercher à l'aéroport. J'étais bien fatiguée mais une fois arrivée a San Diego j'avais plutôt envie d'explorer que de dormir. J'ai tout de même fait la grasse matinée avec grand-papa et grand-maman. Surtout parce-qu'ils ont fait beaucoud de dessin sur mon dos.

Je suis toujours malade :-(

Ce soir on est tout de même aller se promener à Christmas Card Lane. Une rue où toutes les maisons sont décorées avec tout plein de lumières et il y a des gens qui donne des biscuits, bonbons, popcorn, chocolat chaud ou cidre a ceux qui se promènent. C'était super joli!

We got here super early this morning and Grandpa picked us up at the airport. I was quite tired by the time we arrived in San Diego but was still more interested in exploring the house rather than going to sleep. I did sleep in a little bit with grand-ma and grandpa. Mostly because they drew lots of pictures on my back! I like that.

I am still sick :-(

Tonight we walked along Christmas card lane. All the houses were lit up and decorated with all kinds of fun holiday cheer. And people in front of their houses give out hot chocolate, hot cider and treats! I really liked our walk.

Leaving Boston / Le départ impossible

Mom and Dad told me we were going to see grandpa and grandma but it started snowing and I think they decided we would stay in Boston a little longer so I could have fun playing in the snow after the stormed had passed.

And I did!

Even before breakfast! Mom got me all ready in my snow gear and we were the first ones out in the street. It was hard to make snowballs but my favorite thing was to let myself fall in the snow, so soft and fluffy I couldn't get enough of it.

I even made my first snow angel :-)

The next day we left to get onto another plane in New Hampshire and I met Abby at that place we had lunch in Porstmouth. We became best friends and walked around the restaurant looking at all the cool things they had on the wall. I made a drawing for her too.

That night I got to sleep in Papa and Mom's room at the hotel, and before that had fun in the jacuzzi. I am tall enough to stand in it by myself!

I am not sure what happened that night but we got up way too early and waited at the airport for way too long. I think Papa and Mom got bored of it too because we just drove home to Boston.

That night, we left again and did get on a plane to San Diego. I was a little sick, but I am SO happy we are at grandpa and grandma's house! Even Red is here.

I think Mom will tell you why they kept getting ready to leave and then decide to stay. I don't really get it... First explanation, second explanation yes it took that many!

Papa et maman m'ont dit qu'on allait voir grand-papa et grand-maman en Californie, mais il a commencé à neiger et je crois qu'ils ont changé d'avis pour que je puisse en profiter.

Et ils avaient raison!

Même avant le petit déjeuner. Maman a sorti mes habits de neige et on est descendu dans la rue, on était les premiers dehors, c'était vraiment super. C'est difficile de faire des boules de neige, mais j'aime bien me laisser tomber dedans, c'est comme un gros matelas.

Le lendemain, départ pour le New Hampshire et un autre avion. On s'est arrêté à Porstmouth pour manger et je me suis fait une nouvelle amie. Abby et moi avons découvert le restaurant ensemble, et je lui ai fait un dessin avant de partir.

Ce soir là, j'ai dormi dans la chambre à papa et maman! Et avant d'aller se coucher on est allé s'amuser dans la piscine et la jacuzzi de l'hotel. Top!

On s'est reveillé bien trop tôt à mon goût pour aller a l'aéroport et puis une fois arrivé on a du attendre pendant longtemps. Tellement longtemps qu'on en a tous eu marre et on est rentré à Boston!

Le soir on a repris les valises et sommes retourné à l'aéroport de Boston cette fois. On est finallement monté dans un avion et grand-papa est venu nous chercher à Los Angeles et je suis super heureuse d'être finallement chez grand-papa et grand-maman! Même Red est là :-)

Budding artist / Finit avec le dessin abstrait

The mood wasn't at its best tonight when Mom and Dad found out our flight to California had been cancelled because of this big snowstorm heading our way so I decided to cheer them on and show them something cool.

I know how to draw bears! Yup, with eyes, nose, hair, feet, mouth... It looked great and I showed them how to do i!

Ben l'humeur n'était pas vraiment au beau fix quand Papa et Maman on appris que notre vole pour Los Angeles a été annulé à cause de la tempête de neige que va arriver ce soir. Je me suis dis que pour leur remonter le moral je pourrais bien leur montrer qqch de nouveau.

J'ai attraper un feutre orange et leur ai montré comment dessiner un ours. La tête, les yeux, la bouche, les cheveux, les pieds... Il est super mon ours.

November 2009 / Novembre 2009

Christmas is coming! So we took advantage of the nice weather last month to do lots of fun stuff before the arrival of winter. Mom wrote all about it, but I am going to show you the pictures! Click on the album below:

Thanksgiving 2009

Grandma, Grandpa & Uncle Scotty came to visit me!
Mom and I picked up grandpa and grandma at the airport and I showed them the way home on the T. Grandpa did the spider walk that night, that was awesome!

When I woke up the next day, someone was sleeping in my room and that scared me because there was no one there when I went to sleep. Turns out it was Uncle Scottie, I don't know how he found our place without me helping him, that's still a mystery to me.

I decided to show them one of my favorite places: The Boston Children's Museum and for lunch we went to this place Grandpa found called the "No name restaurant" yup, just like that.

Thanksgiving morning I showed everyone the Charles river and looked at my reflection in the water then we went home and I took a nap with grandpa before sitting down to eat. Everyone was so excited about it, but really I wasn't ready to end my nap with grandpa so I decided to be grumpy. Didn't last too long, dessert was too yummy to stay grumpy. That was something to be thankful for!

On Friday, we went on the famous Boston Duck Tour and guess what? The bus became a boat! Guess again? I got to drive that boat!

We had more fun at the Museum of Science and then Papa and Maman left us to go on a date so I had grandpa and grandma and uncle Scotty all to myself!

I hope they come visit me again soon!

Grand-papa, Grand-maman et Oncle Scott sont venus me voir!
Maman et moi sommes allés chercher grand-papa et grand-maman à l'aéroport et je leur ai montré le chemin du retour dans le métro. Ce soir là, grand-papa m'a montré la marche de l'arraignée.

Je me suis reveillée le lendemain avec un intru dans ma chambre, ce qui m'a tout de même pas mal effrayée, mais ce n'était que mon oncle. Le grand mystère c'est des savoir comment il a trouvé son chemin jusque chez nous et dans ma chambre! Totallement inexplicable.

Mercredi, je leur ai montré un de mes endroits préférés: Le musée des enfants. Après ça on est allé mangé au "restaurant sans nom".

Le matin de Thanksgiving, j'ai emmené tout le monde sur les rives de la rivière Charles et j'ai découvert ma réflection sur la surface calme de l'eau. Une fois de retour a la maison j'ai fait la sieste avec grand-papa. Puis tout le monde s'est mis à table. Mais comme j'avais encore envie de faire la sieste avec grand-papa j'ai décidé de faire la tête. Bon ça n'a pas duré longtemps, les desserts étaient délicieux, on peut pas rester de mauvaise humeur quand y'a du bon dessert! Voilà une bonne raison d'être reconnaissante pour Thanksgiving!

Vendredi on est monté dans le bus canard pour découvrir la ville sous un nouveau angle et devinez quoi? Le bus s'est transformé en bâteau! Et devinez encore? J'ai conduit ce bâteau sur la rivière Charles, si si, je vous promets.

Ensuite découverte du musée des sciences puis papa et maman nous ont abandonné, ce qui m'allait très bien, comme ça j'avais Grand-papa, Grand-maman et Oncle Scott rien que pour moi.

J'espère qu'ils reviendront me voir bientôt.

Beacon Hill

Today Mom decided we were gonna go on a different kind of walk, an exploratory one in Beacon Hill and I have to say it was a lot of fun!

First we saw this very big horse that seemed stuck in a picture and I liked looking at it, the rest of the walk was a like a giant rollercoaster ride going up and down the hill and getting thrown left and right on the cobble stones.

One of the best moments? Cookies we got from the Cafe Vanille and ate in Public Garden while watching the squirrels gather supplies for the winter. They are all chubby right now and looked interested in my cookie, but I at the every crumb of i! Then on the way home we stopped in Copley square because I wanted to say hello to the tortoise and the hare.

Aujourd'hui, Maman a decidé qu'on allait faire une promenade un peu differente: de l'exploration dans Beacon Hill, et je me suis bien amusée!

D'abord on a vu un très grand cheval qui avait l'air d'être coincé dans une espèce de dessin en 3 dimensions, j'ai bien aimé le voir de près. Ensuite ce fut un grand tour en super 8, monter, descendre, monters, descendre et se faire secouer sur les pavés...

Un des meilleurs moments? Ben les biscuits et le financier que maman a acheté au Café Vanille sur Charles street, et qu'on a dégusté au jardin publique en regardant les écureuils faire leurs reserves pour l'hiver. Ils sont plutôt dodus en ce moment et semblait intéressé par mon biscuit, mais j'ai mangé la dernière miette, trop bon!

Sur le chemin du retour on s'est arrêté à la place Copley pour que je puisse m'amuser avec le lièvre et la tortue (2 petites statues à la ligne d'arrivée du marathon de Boston.)
